The Worthington Area Art League (WAAL) was founded in 1969 by a small group of art enthusiasts as a way to share their interests. Since that time, the League has hosted a membership of over 100 artists and art lovers. Our members range from professional artists to Sunday painters; from doodlers to larger-than-life sculptors; and from museum-goers to museum-show-ers. All are welcome.

WAAL holds monthly meetings on the second Thursday of each month. Our meetings feature excellent guest speakers and thoughtful programming. We offer monthly critiques so that our artists can improve in their practice. We hold multiple exhibits each year and in 2020 we added virtual exhibits to our repertoire. We participate in community events and provide opportunities to our artists to host solo shows through our Art in Community Venues Program. We host individual web portfolios as well as an Artist Virtual Gallery through our website. Each year WAAL provides scholarships to three area high school students interested in pursuing a future in the arts. Student Scholars are invited to share their work and their plans for the future at our Spring Banquet.

The Worthington Area Art League has been welcoming art lovers for over 50 years. Come meet people that share your interests. Learn the processes of other artists. Try a new medium. Be creative. WAAL is currently welcoming new members. Memberships begin at just $30 per year. Visit the Membership tab of our website and become a member.
