>>>> DOODLE TO FINE ART VETERANS ART INITIATIVE SHOW
I attended the Veterans Art initiative show at the downtown Columbus Metropolitan Library on February 22nd. The work was very fascinating and I hope you are able to stop by and see their work.
Several of the presenters who were at our Holiday Dinner were there and expressed their appreciation for our gifts. Many of those materials were used in their creations. It is very rewarding to know how much they appreciated them.
If you have time stop by to see their show. The information flyer is attached.
>>>> REQUEST TO MEMBERS
This has been such a wonderful year serving as your Vice President. So many people suggested wonderful speakers and other presenters just seemed to unexpectedly show up.
It has been a treat working with the speakers and the wonderful support you, the WAAL members have shown them as well a me.
Diana has been a great mentor and a great leader, but her term expires soon and mine as VP will and I will become president.
So here is my request: I and the league need a new VP for next year. It is a very fulfilling job and a real pleasure. If you are interested in learning, meeting new artist and people and having a great time being VP is the way to do it. If you would like more information about the position or if you know of someone you think would be interested please let either Diane or myself know.
>>>> APRIL SPEAKER: ANDI WOLF, WOOD TURNER

>>>>scammer targeting artists in the Columbus area
It has come to our attention that there may be a scammer targeting artists in the Columbus area. We have been alerted by a WAAL member about vague and impersonal email communications from one or more senders. WAAL does it’s best to maintain the integrity of our member’s contact information. Members can rest assured that the league does not have any personal information beyond that which is public record or can be found in the White Pages. To that end, we do not actively publish this information to our website unless specifically directed by an individual member. However persistent scammers may still find a way to contact artists for phony transactions.
As with anything, please NEVER give out personal banking information to an untrusted or unsecure site, and NEVER allow someone to use your bank account for a bait and switch transaction. Any legitimate buyer will be able to handle any professional transactions (such as a mover or shipper) on their own and should be absolutely willing to transfer money to you via a secure source, such as PayPal, which reveals none of your personal information.
Unfortunately, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Be vigilant and if you have ANY doubts do not proceed with the transaction.
Several of our members were juried into the Bryn Du Art Show. I don’t know everyone but I have two pieces. Ann Kete and Jane Flewellen have at least one piece.
