This is a special announcement from the president presenting an opportunity to participate in a WAAL exhibit at the Mac. Those of you at last week’s meeting heard about it. Now here it is again for everyone. Time is short!

3 Points in Time: An Artist’s Journey
To be exhibited at the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center (MAC).
January 4th through March 18th
Opening Reception to be held January 11, 6:30 to 8pm.
The submission deadline is Thursday, November 9th by midnight. Artists who are accepted will be notified by Monday, November 20th.
The title chosen, 3 Points in Time, is intended to give the viewer a small glimpse into how an artist’s work might change over a period of time.
Submissions for the exhibit must be in a “set” and include the following:
3 pieces that represent 3 different times in your artistic journey. Also, you must include a 4-5 sentence statement explaining what changed for you between EACH piece. You will have 2 statements, one explaining the change between piece 1 and 2 and one between piece 2 and 3.
Please note in the submission: Name of each piece, year produced, approx. size, medium. Also note, if there is a title for the entire set.
The set of works submitted could display many different possible changes in the work of an artist, including, but not limited to: A change in medium, or a change in thematic concentration. A change in lifestyle or significant events in the artist’s life. The influence of a workshop, class or interaction with another artist.
More than one “set” may be submitted by an artist. Submissions must be submitted electronically to email@example.com <mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org>. Each piece must be photographed individually and then as the “set”. Please only submit 1 set per email. You will receive an email confirmation when your submission is received.
Only complete sets will be reviewed for selection. Partial sets will not be accepted. The MAC will review the submissions and select based not only on artistic quality, but also on the articulated change. The physical space and the relationships of the sets to each other within the space will also be considered during the selection process.
You may submit prior to the official deadline to have your submission reviewed. MAC staff will let you know if additional information might be required. No new submission material will be accepted after the official deadline.
Once selected, the Worthington Area Art League will collect fees from participating artists, and organize and present awards for the show.
Drop off for the show will be January 2, 2018 from 10 am – 6 pm. Early drop offs can be accommodated by request. Pick up will be March 19, 208 from 10 am-6pm.
