>>>President’s Message
I hope everyone had a good holiday season.  Joni Meeker (Vice President) and I are making plans to tackle some of WAAL’s challenges for 2020.
  • Our membership numbers have decreased since last September.  First, we’ll try to identify why some members did not renew.  This is happening to local clubs of all types.  We’ll let you know what we found out and what we think could be done.
  • WAAL has had trouble filling our local venues month-to-month.  We’ve heard from some of you that it’s a lot of work hanging collections with little return.  We may drop a few venues and keep the ones where we’ve have had better traffic and/or success selling pieces.  More information about this in the next few months.
  • It’s been mentioned that we should have more shows and maybe some pop-up sales.  We have a couple people working on finding some proper venues for shows.  When we do that, we will need some volunteers to chair the shows.  Please consider taking that responsibility for a show or sharing it with a friend.  It’s a good way to get to know your fellow members by their faces as well as their work

Joni and I want to thank the people who help run WAAL and who have elected to stay in their jobs through 2020.  May thanks to Ana Maria Atwood, Treasurer, Jane Moore, Secretary, Chuck Zelms, Membership Chair, Katherine Crowley, Social Media Communications, and Matt Anderle, Website Chair, Kat Bubenchik, Hospitality.

As always, send your comments and suggestions to President@worthingtonareaartleague.com

>>>Workshops –  We are considering adding some workshops to the calendar and would like to know what artists or subject matter interests you.  Email President@worthingtonareaartleague.com
>In 2019, some members expressed an interest in taking a workshop from Mark Gingerich.  We can talk to Mark about the possibility but first would like to gauge interest of our members.
