# Worthington Area Art League – announcements 8/22/20 #
Hello Members
What a fun meeting this last time (see some who were at the meeting in attached image). Hope you can join us for future meetings. For the time being they are ZOOM meetings. Fun to participate easy to use. See you next time!
Next announcement on or about: Sept 4. I would not be surprised if you see an interim before that.
Now on to the news.

>>>> From your President elect
Dear Art League Members,
At our August Meeting we elected a new Board of Directors. I will be fulfilling the duties of President for the 2020-2021 Season, Beth Veldey will be serving as Vice President on an interim basis, and Jane Moore and Ana Atwood were re-elected to the offices of Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. Chuck Zelms will continue to serve as Membership Chair, Janet Forbes-Green as Venues Chair, Kathryn Bubenchik as Hospitality Chair and Matthew Anderle as Webmaster. Thank you all for your votes, and for your confidence in our leadership during these unprecedented times.
We owe a debt of gratitude to Beth Veldey and Joni Meeker for thinking on their feet and moving our meetings to a safe online environment and for continuing to maintain the energy of our organization when we could not meet in person.
Rediscover WAAL
Speaking of these unprecedented times, COVID-19 does not seem to be going away anytime soon. Due to the restrictions on large gatherings, I have been working-from-home (or in my case working-from-art-studio) on behalf of my corporate employer; therefore, all of my communications have transitioned to an online platform. I even video chat with some of my co-workers over lunch so it can feel like we are going out to eat. Given the level of concern about the virus, the Board decided that wewill continue to hold our meetings virtually until it is safe enough to meet in person. Our organization is over 150 members strong and membership renewals are rolling in. The online environment translates well to visual art and the current technology available has a lot of potential for making our interactions fun and informative. I hope that my experience conducting online engagements will benefit the League and encourage your participation. Our Board is working to design some interesting engagements and we hope you will be a part of them.
I am looking forward to our September Meeting and our program “Show & Tell”. Each member is invited to share two recent works of art they have created (or are still working on). It is always our best attended meeting and I hope that this year will be no exception. Instructions on how the meeting will be formatted are below.
This will be an exciting year ahead,
Katie
Katherine N. Crowley, President-Elect
